After a super lesson with Ibby yesterday, Nash and I felt ready today! Glad for the better weather as we got absolutely soaked yesterday… I arrived in plenty of time, had a cup of tea with Helen, and did my Testt Physio exercises before getting on to warm up. Got to the tack check and it was pointed out that my hat wasn’t tagged – argh!! So trotted back up to the secretary and got the hat tagged, and off we went again to get warmed up!

I didn’t notice a huge difference in Nash’s way of going from wearing the Albion bridle again from the Fairfax yesterday – but I think he was more through yesterday… So worth a longer trial I think! He does like the new bit though – so keeping with the verbindend.

We did an accurate test – a little blip in the first canter where he was a bit behind the aids (which I think I hid quite well). But I corrected this in the second canter and was pleased with his focus and rideability. The judge agreed and awarded 7’s and 7.5’s across the board.

I was thrilled with the win today – our first win at Riding Club Areas, and confirmation that we’re off to Lincoln for the National RC Championships in September – yaay! In addition, Nash’s win helped the Misterton team to a second space qualifying spot – so that’s all of us off to the finals!
