Our first visit to SLRE, parking was very tight. Warm up was in the indoor arena, with the competition test ridden in a larger outdoor. There were quite a few spectators for both the warm up and the test. Chris came to cheer me on!

Judges comments were:
“A pleasing test on the whole, pity about the blip in the second canter! Again, lots to like and a pleasing partnership.”
The ‘blip’ in the second canter mentioned by the judge in her comments referred to someone on a black horse galloping past the arena (along the concrete path)! and setting Nash off – I had to ride a circle to get him back under parental control – resulting in a 5 for the movement and -2 marks for the circle (EOC). The marks after that second canter were noticeably lower than the first 3/4 of the test – quite right as Nash was very lit up and tense after that. Still took the win despite that mishap – but goes to show we really need to concentrate on the test and not get distracted by what’s going on around us!
